Moments
Overview
The moment
resource is used in tandom with the souvenir
resource and the Catalogue API to incentivise your visitors to perform certain actions at an experience
by gifting digital gifts.
See the souvenir collection case study for a good use case for when you might want to use this service.
When to use a moment?
Technically a moment
is a collection of activities generated by certain objects.
Moments are useful when you need to know that a visitor has performed certain actions. For example a visitor may need to have signed a waiver and agreed to some terms and conditions before they can take part in a sporting contest.
You may have an object
which generates activities that confirm waiver agreement and a seperate object
that generates activities that confirm terms and conditions agreement. Only when a user has both of these activities can they take part.
You would use a moment
to group these together.
Moments and souvenirs
A visitor has lived a moment once they have acquired all the activities that make up that moment. These become powerful when used in conjunction with the the souvenir
resource. In XPKit you can say once a visitor has lived certain moments they qualify for an associated digital gift (souvenir
).
